Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Resort Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. This role will involve handling day-to-day work challenges confidently and adjusting to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and evaluating critical guest rooms and resort amenities' issues to make logical decisions to solve problems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment, including lamps, air conditioners, cosmetic items, replacing electrical switches and outlets, and programming TVs in guest rooms;
  • Repairing and/or adjusting all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment, and cosmetic items in public areas;
  • Monitoring fire alarm/life safety systems as necessary, being fully informed of system operation, and handling emergencies involving the systems;
  • Observing energy and utilities usage in the resort and grounds, looking for ways to conserve energy, and reporting ideas to Engineering Management;
  • Cleaning, lubricating, protecting, and maintaining all tools and equipment in the resort;
  • Being available for any emergencies and acting in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during emergencies;
  • Aware of existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and striving to work in an accident-free manner and create a safe work environment for others;
  • Maintaining thorough logs of each day's activities and problems that occur and ensuring this information is passed on to other shifts;
  • Cleaning all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management and working in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well-organized;
  • Completing all work assigned in a safe and professional manner and maintaining communications with supervisors to ensure needed materials, tools, and supplies are available or on order;
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum age requirement of 21+ due to driving a licensed Resort vehicle;
  • A valid driver's license and ability to meet the requirements of driver insurability as established by the insurance carrier;
  • Encouragement of OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training and certification;
  • A High School Certificate with emphasis in Technical Trades;
  • Physical strength, stamina, and agility to perform assigned duties, as well as the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds;
  • The ability to walk and sit daily, ascend/descend stairs daily, communicate and disseminate information accurately with the general public or associates, comprehend reading materials, speak, read, and write English, and work alone without supervision;
  • The ability to report work-related accidents, maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor;

Others

Horseshoe Bay Resort functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize it may be necessary to move from their accustomed shifts as business demands. In addition, it is understood that business determines the amount of hours to be worked, and some weeks may be scheduled at less than 40 hours, while other weeks are more than 40 hours.
