Early Childhood Education Quality Specialist and Learning Coach

As an Early Childhood Education Quality Specialist and Learning Coach at Southwestern Oregon Community College, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation and continuous quality improvement of the Preschool Promise program. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a passion for early childhood education and a strong background in technical assistance and coaching.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide intensive and individualized consultation and coaching to early education programs in accordance with Preschool Promise program expectations, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and maintain trusting relationships with early education programs to create a conducive environment for learning and reflection.
• Provide technical assistance, relationship-based coaching, mentoring, and job-embedded professional development for administrators and educators in Preschool Promise programs.
• Support the implementation of Preschool Promise in family and center-based childcare settings, school districts, and other early education programs to meet program expectations, classroom, and teacher goals.
• Deliver regular one-on-one coaching sessions to educators and instructional leaders of Preschool Promise programs, following the Oregon Early Learning Coaching Guidelines.
• Conduct regular direct classroom observations and video reviews, providing feedback to educators in Preschool Promise programs.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with coursework in age three to five development or Step 10 on the Oregon Registry.
• Two or more years of experience in an early childhood program with a focus on preschool.
• Two years of experience providing technical assistance and training to early education programs, providing classroom observations and/or home visits to families with young children.
• Experience supporting the primacy of families, their home languages, and their cultures, and an understanding of how to engage them.
