Job Summary: Salas O'Brien is currently seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our Commissioning Team, focusing primarily on commissioning and energy efficiency sectors. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Commissioning Agent within the Commissioning Team, emphasizing electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Conduct or assist in commissioning activities, including the creation of commissioning plans, design evaluations, leading commissioning kickoff meetings, job progress documentation, functional performance assessments, and final report generation.
  • Develop project requirements as specified by the owner.
  • Execute pre-functional tests, observe equipment startup, and compile reports.
  • Manage multiple project tasks concurrently while balancing workloads to adhere to project timelines.
  • Perform calculations essential for design evaluation and commissioning acceptance of systems.
  • Conduct selected quality assurance/quality control on company-wide controls design projects.
  • Familiarize yourself with and apply relevant codes.
  • Oversee the project close-out process.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with clients, owners, and contractors as necessary.
  • As you gain experience and a deeper understanding of our operations, anticipate responsibilities that may include business development, marketing, and project management duties, including identifying new opportunities that align synergistically with our existing business.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Current commissioning certification through ACG or a similar organization is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, and/or testing, adjusting, and balancing.
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
  • Understanding of construction procurement and design development processes.
