Position Overview: Salas O'Brien is currently seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our Commissioning Team, focusing primarily on commissioning and energy efficiency sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Commissioning Agent within the Commissioning Team, emphasizing electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Conduct or assist in commissioning activities, including the creation of commissioning plans, design reviews, leading kickoff meetings, job progress reporting, functional performance testing, and final report preparation.
  • Develop project requirements as specified by the owner.
  • Execute pre-functional tests, oversee equipment startup, and compile reports.
  • Manage multiple project tasks concurrently while balancing workloads to adhere to project timelines.
  • Perform calculations essential for design review and commissioning acceptance of systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on company-wide controls design projects.
  • Familiarize yourself with and apply relevant codes and standards.
  • Oversee the project close-out process.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with clients, owners, and contractors as necessary.
  • As your experience grows and your understanding of our business deepens, anticipate expanding your role to include business development, marketing, and project management responsibilities, identifying new opportunities that align with our existing business.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Current commissioning certification through ACG or a similar organization is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commissioning or a related field, particularly with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, and/or testing, adjusting, and balancing.
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
  • Understanding of construction procurement and design development processes.
