Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography Specialist to join our team at Akumin. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient safety and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections, and utilizing aseptic injection techniques.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images through the operation of CT scanners and other equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, including radiologists, to ensure seamless collaboration and high-quality patient care.
  • Train new technologists and Patient Coordinators to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to maintain optimal imaging performance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT, or certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
  • State license and CPR certification required.
  • Strong customer service skills and organizational abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Physical Demands

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport and may be required to lift and move patients. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements of the hands, arms, and legs.
