Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in implementing the rehabilitative plan of care under the direction and supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist at Carolina Therapy Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing the rehabilitative plan of care, ensuring seamless execution of treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists to develop and implement treatment goals, frequency, duration, and specific modalities.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services, observing, recording, and reporting patient responses to treatment and any changes in condition.
  • Review patient programs weekly, contacting Physical Therapists directly for patient reports and care as needed.
  • Submit written reports of patient progress at designated intervals to physicians and/or Physical Therapists.
  • Instruct patients regarding physical therapy procedures designated by supervising Physical Therapists.
  • Adhere to federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of care and ethics, as well as policies concerned with the practice of physical therapy.
  • Participate in staff development activities and in-services education programs.
  • Meet productivity and utilization expectations established by the Company and the facility.
  • Complete timely clinical documentation, including functional goal-setting, progress, and therapeutic approach.
  • Complete administrative/billing documentation timely and accurately.
  • Cover more than one facility as required by the need of the Company.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited physical therapist assistants' program with an Associate's degree approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Licensed or Certified by the state in which the Physical Therapist Assistant resides or practices according to state requirements.
