Position Overview: Retail Sales Representative

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales within the designated territory by fostering strong relationships with store management and personnel. This role focuses on achieving both short-term and long-term performance goals while enhancing the overall retail value, which includes sales, product displays, new product introductions, and core distribution. The territory encompasses high-traffic grocery retailers.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Merchandising:

  • Implement monthly sales strategies and capitalize on selling opportunities at the store level.
  • Promote additional inventory to support advertising campaigns, seasonal promotions, and national marketing initiatives.
  • Utilize promotional activities to boost Point-of-Sale (POS) through effective display selling.
  • Ensure adherence to Planogram (POG) standards in both scripted and independent accounts.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for upselling and securing additional displays.
  • Conduct store assessments to pinpoint areas for potential sales growth.

Distribution Management:

  • Uphold Ferrara's standards by ensuring comprehensive distribution of all authorized Stock Keeping Units (SKUs).
  • Facilitate the placement of high-priority SKUs through secondary displays.

Communication:

  • Establish and nurture business relationships with key decision-makers in stores.
  • Participate in regular team calls to share best practices and insights.
  • Collaborate with key decision-makers to align growth initiatives with Ferrara's objectives.

Territory Oversight:

  • Manage assigned stores effectively and provide feedback on routing efficiencies and new opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with district and regional personnel.
  • Conduct regular visits to grocery accounts to ensure consistent engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in sales or consumer goods preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 10 to 40 pounds regularly.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management abilities.
  • Analytical skills to interpret market data and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
