About the Role

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a highly skilled Electronic Medical Records Release Representative to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management, maintenance, and protection of patient medical information utilizing an electronic medical records system.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and other stakeholders by offering timely and accurate distribution of medical information.
  • Process and manage patient medical records, including preparing, reviewing, and processing requests for medical information.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies, local, state, and federal regulations, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve issues and provide support as needed.
  • Perform quality checks and research to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Keyboarding skills and ability to utilize computer equipment and software programs.
  • Experience working in a Health Information Management setting or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years experience working in a Health Information Management setting or similar environment.
  • Two (2) years experience working with an Electronic Medical Records system.
  • RHIT or RHIA credentials.
  • Familiarity with an electronic practice management system.
