Pet Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and animal-loving individual to join our team as a Pet Care Specialist at No Leash Needed. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our furry guests.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Care: Ensure that each guest is treated with respect and dignity, and that their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Food and Water Management: Ensure that all guests are receiving appropriate amounts of food and water, and that food and water bowls are cleaned and sanitized daily.
- Facility Maintenance: Clean up dog feces, urination, and any vomit throughout the shift, and maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following our standards of cleaning and disinfecting rooms.
- Exercise and Play: Walk dogs on leash to and from outside exercise areas, and engage in play activities with pets, including fetch, exercise walks, chase, agility, follow the leader, recall, and basic obedience games.
- Supervision: Supervise activities of multiple dogs throughout the day, and monitor closely for any potential conflicts or escalations.
- Health and Safety: Monitor guest's health by daily charting of eating and elimination habits, and dispose of and clean up any stool and urine. Follow all standards of safety with regards to handling guests, particularly aggressive guests and escape artists.
- Communication: Immediately alert front staff and resort manager when a guest is ill or exhibiting odd behavior, and follow-up by filling out an illness form and turning it in to a shift lead/manager.
- Inventory Management: Alert manager when levels of inventory are low in the following areas: pet foods, cleaning products for kenneling and lobby areas, and trash or debris.
- Teamwork: Work with a team who all exemplify a passion for animals and animal care, and who are focused on safe and gentle handling.
- Animal Experience: A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs and cats. Willingness to learn animal behavior to ensure their safety.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping.
- Teamwork and Communication: Good team work and willingness to assist other departments as necessary, and ability to take direction well and apply it independently.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
- Physical Ability: Must be comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
