Description

As a Team Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and engaging in the activities of crews tasked with delivering public works services. This includes the upkeep, repair, and construction of roadways and community parks. You will undertake a variety of responsibilities related to your designated areas of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with management to synchronize operations and initiatives within the department.
  • Oversee team members to ensure compliance with safety protocols, addressing any violations promptly.
  • Guide, allocate, and assess the work of staff engaged in maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various heavy machinery and equipment utilized in the upkeep of streets and parks.
  • Identify project requirements, estimating necessary time, materials, and equipment, and requisitioning supplies as needed.
  • Address public inquiries courteously, providing relevant information and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Maintain daily logs and operational records, submitting reports as required.
  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of community events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in maintenance work involving moderate to light construction and equipment operation.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within one year, a commercial certified applicator of pesticides license.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to perform various skilled construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Capable of executing manual tasks for extended periods under varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain physical fitness suitable for the demands of the role, including walking, standing, bending, and operating equipment.
  • Ability to perform strenuous manual labor.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of various types of equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Understanding of occupational hazards and standard safety practices, including the handling of hazardous materials.
