Job Opportunity: Certified Welding Inspector

As a Certified Welding Inspector, you will be immersed in various projects, conducting evaluations and performing essential testing, while delivering your expertise directly to our clients.

The Opportunity: Our projects range from building erection reviews to fabrication shop audits, condition assessments, repair and reinforcement monitoring, and maintenance and warranty reviews for existing roadway structures and bridges.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform bolted and welded structural connection reviews on building construction sites, fabrication shop inspections, and additional specialty reviews and non-destructive testing.
  • Steel testing as needed in our Materials Laboratory, including testing of welder performance and procedure qualifications, high strength bolts and anchor rods, load testing of assemblies, etc.
  • Occasionally assist with other service reviews or testing, as needed, to support other groups within SME.

Requirements:

  • A current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Proficient with commonly used computer programs and phone apps (e.g. Microsoft word/excel, PDFs, email, web browsers, maps, etc.).
  • QC/QA and/or related NDT experience preferred, but not required.
