Role Overview
The Security Operations Specialist plays a vital role within the Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). In this capacity, you will spearhead efforts to provide comprehensive security services and safeguard assets, including personnel, facilities, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property.
Reporting Structure
You will report directly to the Loss Prevention Manager, assisting in the support of the FC Operational team and collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enhance, monitor, and report on metrics that serve as key performance indicators, facilitating performance improvements to achieve desired outcomes efficiently.
2. Ensure compliance with internal controls as per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements relevant to your area.
3. Assist in the investigation of internal and external theft and fraud, conducting interviews as necessary.
4. Foster a culture of performance excellence among all security services team members.
Alignment with Organizational Goals
Ensure a thorough understanding of, alignment with, and ability to articulate the vision and values of the organization and your department. Meet or exceed objectives that align with the security service model.
Best Practices Implementation
Identify, advocate for, and implement security best practices within the designated FC.
Liaison Role
Act as the department's liaison and security subject matter expert for facility management, keeping them informed of key issues, strategies, and departmental performance.
Process Improvement
Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process enhancements and boost efficiency.
Collaboration
Work effectively with internal stakeholders to evaluate current and future security services, processes, and initiatives.
Data Analysis
Coordinate data collection from multiple FCs and conduct analyses to generate strategic and tactical insights.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or related fields.
- Proficiency in MS Office Professional Suite, particularly Excel.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic to Intermediate English proficiency.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts and certification is preferred.
- Strong database skills (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, and Exception Based Reporting.
- Experience in interviewing and interrogation techniques, with Wicklander and Zulawski certification being a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or nearing completion within one year.
- Experience in warehouse or distribution center operations.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of best practices in physical security systems, investigation techniques, oversight of contract security personnel, and loss mitigation strategies in distribution centers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Analytical experience in performance-driven settings.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
