Job Title: Orthotic Fitter

Job Summary:

The Orthotic Fitter will provide patient care through the provision and adjustment of off-the-shelf and pre-fabricated orthoses. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with certified clinicians to evaluate and analyze patients' orthotic needs.
• Examine and assess patients' conditions related to disease and functional impairment.
• Perform fittings and execute minor modifications as necessary.
• Evaluate orthotic devices on patients, ensuring proper fit, functionality, medical efficacy, and quality.
• Instruct patients on the use and care of orthopedic devices.
• Identify and resolve any issues to ensure patient satisfaction with provided devices.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Employee must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Allied Health Professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic trainer, etc.).
• Orthotic or Soft Goods Fitter.

• Knowledge and Skill:
  • Willingness to verify all clinical activities with certified clinical personnel.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Hand skills necessary to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of biomechanical principles.
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patient and staff.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan for the purpose of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
