Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity Coordinator

TreePeople, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity team, you will play a critical role in coordinating and leading environmental education programs, including nature trips and service learning projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead nature trips and service learning projects, including scheduling school visits, booking tours, and managing logistics.
  • Contribute to consistent and accurate reporting, metrics tracking, and data collection for key Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with School Partnerships Associate Manager to recruit, engage, and support teachers and students to participate in Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity programs.
  • Support content delivery for teacher workshops and assist with workshop recap reports.
  • Participate in coordinator meetings, engaging with priority schools and supporting equitable distribution of field trips and service learning projects.
  • Represent TreePeople and the Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity team in the classroom, community, and beyond.
  • Support TreePeople's Nursery, Park Operations, Urban Forestry, and Mountain Forestry teams as needed.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working with High School-aged children, preferably in an outdoor education setting.
  • Community-oriented individual with demonstrated proficiency in mobilizing people to action.
  • Understanding of ecological systems and awareness of current environmental issues.
  • Experience in project management and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to visit school sites across the Greater Los Angeles Area on a regular basis.
  • Valid CA Driver's License, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and lift 15 pounds.

Salary: $22.00 per hour
