Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs Director to lead our Hematology team at Merck. As a key member of our Research Laboratories, US Medical Affairs, you will drive scientific excellence and optimize field readiness across our five strategic pillars.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant medical affairs and field medical experience, with expertise in the hematology space. You will partner with our Global TA team and cross-functional members to enable regional implementation of our Value and Implementation (V&I) Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Infuse local insights into Global Scientific Content (GSC) and Global Scientific Training (GST) plans, facilitate local pull-through of GSC and GST, and plan and implement aligned local training as needed.
  2. Identify and prioritize US field resources, training needs, and activities within the Hematology program.
  3. Develop and provide input into field resources to supply Regional Medical Scientific Directors (RMSDs) with timely, relevant, and approved materials for medical and/or scientific training.
  4. Partner with GST, GSC, US Regional Director of Medical Affairs (RDMA), and relevant internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to orchestrate and deliver regional training deemed necessary by RMATs and Field Team.

Required Qualifications

  1. An advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD) relevant to the specific disease area and recognized medical expertise in the Oncology space.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of medical affairs experience or equivalent clinical/research experience in Oncology, specifically expertise in the hematology space.
  3. A minimum of 3 years of working in Hematology (clinical, research, or pharmaceutical environment) or within a highly relevant Therapeutic Area (TA) with demonstrated scientific acumen.

Estimated Salary Range

$140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
