We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Automation & Robotics Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This pivotal role will report directly to the Plant Engineering Manager and will collaborate closely with both Process Development and Production Operations teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and scaling manufacturing process systems, automation solutions, customized robotics technologies, and material handling systems for our cutting-edge manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous enhancement of our innovative manufacturing processes and production facility dedicated to producing unique biomaterials.
- Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of essential manufacturing processes, including automated transport systems utilizing autonomous mobile robots (AMR), automated storage solutions through automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), and robotic work cells for product handling.
- Design and specify new equipment to support high-volume production, aligning with product transformation needs and operational criteria.
- Investigate and implement new technologies to enhance manufacturing reliability and increase production efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive technology master plans and establish design standards for manufacturing systems and automation equipment.
- Provide expert technical guidance to engineering firms, equipment suppliers, and construction teams throughout all project phases, from design to commissioning.
- Conduct vendor acceptance testing and validation activities for new manufacturing equipment.
- Offer technical troubleshooting support to the production operations team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably in Food/Beverage, Consumer Products, Automotive, or similar high-volume industries.
- Strong knowledge of process design, including equipment design, machine safety, throughput modeling, and reliability engineering.
- Expertise in automation and controls, including robotics (preferably ABB & Fanuc), AMR/AGV technology (Geek+ preferred), material handling systems, ASRS, and control systems (Allen Bradley PLC/HMI).
- Proficient in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
