At American Family Care, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) to join our team. As a Medical Assistant/LMRT, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services in our state-of-the-art clinics.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform radiographic and diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of injuries and diseases.
- Provide general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Maintain a neat and clean working environment, ensuring all supplies are ordered and stocked.
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
- Aid physicians with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Observe safety and security procedures, promoting a safe and pleasant work environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences, and Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) license in Texas, or Non-Certified Technician (NCT).
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
- Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office.
- Accuracy and detail orientation.
- Positive customer service skills.
While performing the duties of this job, you will be working in an indoor healthcare environment, working with a moderate noise level, working with a potential exposure to radiation, bloodborne pathogens, and diseases, with a requirement to wear appropriate PPE (e.g., gloves, masks, etc.).
