Job Description:

The Senior Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in driving mechanical asset availability for their assigned production unit, forecasting capital and maintenance needs to reduce risks to production OEE and maintenance budget.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Reliability Engineer is to ensure the availability and ability of mechanical assets to meet the unit's production goals. Additionally, the Senior Reliability Engineer supports both Capital and Expense projects to ensure design is both reliable and maintainable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a zero-incident safety culture
  • Implementing established maintenance and reliability strategies
  • Identifying needed maintenance technician training and procedure development
  • Identifying and implementing cost improvement and cost avoidance opportunities
  • Responding to equipment failures and ensuring daily production goals are achieved
  • Supporting maintenance and capital replacements, repairs, and overhauls to mechanical equipment assets
  • Writing maintenance procedures, job plans, and repair plans
  • Documenting equipment failure history and costs using SAP and OEE data
  • Performing routine mechanical equipment troubleshooting
  • Performing repair vs. replacement analysis on equipment
  • Performing equipment root cause failure analysis
  • Scoping out and implementing equipment replacement and upgrade projects
  • Performing asset management duties for equipment

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, minimum 10 years post-grad experience, and prior experience in the Chemical, Plastics, or Refining industry. Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and strong interpersonal skills are required. The ability to travel (typically < 5%) is also necessary.
