Join Geosyntec Consultants as a Senior Coastal Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Coastal Engineer to lead our coastal engineering practice along the Texas Gulf Coast Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing complex and innovative coastal engineering solutions, managing clients and projects, and mentoring junior staff.

About the Role
  • Collaborate with our Waterfront business team to grow our coastal engineering practice across the US.
  • Develop business and manage clients and projects in coastal projects, including beach nourishment, shoreline stabilization, dredging, environmental restoration, and mitigation.
  • Task and project management, including coastal engineering investigations and planning work, budgeting, and budget management.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of coastal engineering work in marine-related projects.
  • Management and mentoring of mid and early-career staff.
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and technical report writing on contaminated sediment, remediation, and waterfront projects.
  • Reviewing and managing written document production.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in coastal, environmental, or civil engineering, with emphasis on coastal or water resources.
  • Advanced degree in coastal engineering or a closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • At least 10 years of direct engineering consulting experience working on coastal and waterfront projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Proven leadership and detail-orientation skills.
  • Demonstrated business development and project management experience.
  • Experience in relevant coastal engineering software.
