Key Responsibilities
Execute advanced pipefitting tasks and install, repair, adjust, or modify various types of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems; replace or repair all associated components such as electrostatic filters, pneumatic and electronic controls, pumps, and fan motors.
Carry out pipefitting duties and install and repair steam lines, expansion joints, traps, regulators, bearings, and valves.
Plan, implement, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment. Assess installed systems for proper assembly of parts and adherence to technical specifications, blueprints, and established procedures. Ensure compliance with safety operational standards.
Interpret sketches, blueprints, and layouts to determine material requirements and timeframes; prepare cost estimates; compile reports, requisitions, work orders, inventory lists, and project documentation.
May be responsible for mentoring semi-skilled and skilled HVAC technicians and tradespeople; assist in training new staff; coordinate efforts with other trades.
Maintain cleanliness and organization as required by the area.
Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. | CFC Universal Certificate is mandatory.
| Approved certification from an accredited apprenticeship program and 2 years of relevant work experience; or a high school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant work experience.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient in the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of piping and HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and controls. Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints.
