Job Requirements:
- A minimum of twelve (12) months of continuous experience in direct patient care within the last three (3) years in either public or private healthcare settings. Clinical competencies must be up-to-date.
- A valid and current license issued by the California State Board of Vocational Nurses.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider.
- Documentation of completion of a competency validation process as required.
- Compliance with respiratory protection standards and training as per regulations.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The LVN will provide services within the scope of practice as defined by institutional policies and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Organizing and delivering essential healthcare services in accordance with established protocols.
- Performing basic hygiene and nursing care, including administering prescribed medications and monitoring therapeutic effects.
- Collecting and reporting patient status information to the Primary Care Provider (PCP) or Registered Nurse (RN) promptly.
- Educating patients and accurately documenting care in the designated format, ensuring physician's orders are followed.
- Assisting with therapeutic measures and treatments as required.
- Maintaining and cleaning medical equipment.
- Collecting specimens for diagnostic testing as ordered.
- Supporting the RN and PCP during clinic appointments and minor procedures.
- Contributing to the treatment planning process alongside mental health professionals.
- Training patients in daily living activities and assisting with routine treatments.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Accurately recording patient medical histories.
- Monitoring and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observing patients to identify progress and side effects of treatments.
- Assisting patients with daily activities, including eating and bathing.
- Administering injections and prescribed medications, as well as performing basic medical care tasks.
- Keeping patient records updated with current medications and health information.
- Providing guidance and education to patients on medical procedures and tests.
- Ensuring cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms between patient visits.
Salary Range: $30 - $53 /HR
