Position Summary

We are currently in search of a Facilities Maintenance Technician to manage all site procurement activities and ensure the general upkeep of our research facility.

This role is a full-time, office-based position in Dallas, TX.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will leverage your expertise and judgment to maintain the overall condition of the building and equipment within the research facility.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a comprehensive vendor database for all necessary services and acting as the main point of contact for site vendors.
  • Securing quotes and conducting price comparisons for purchases or study proposals as requested by management.
  • Executing purchases from chosen vendors by completing the required corporate and/or site documentation.
  • Communicating site procurement details to the accounting department for accrual purposes.
  • Collaborating with operational staff on new studies to ensure timely availability of study supplies within budget constraints.
  • Working with operational staff to develop the study menu, placing orders with food vendors, and monitoring service quality through feedback.
  • Participating in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives and internal audits within your areas of expertise.
  • Keeping calibration and maintenance records for all site equipment as per company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Managing equipment and building systems within the TMS system.
  • Conducting daily temperature checks for all monitored locations within the facility (e.g., sample freezers, drug refrigerators).
  • Overseeing compliance with OSHA and biohazard regulations at the site, serving as the safety officer.
  • Providing general maintenance support and liaising with landlords for site improvements.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems or coordinating with responsible vendors.
  • Ensuring the facility is routinely maintained and cleaned in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Performing any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree or completion of a trade school program (HVAC, mechanical equipment operation, plumbing, or electrical trades).
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal educational requirements.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a related facilities maintenance role.
  • Proficiency in HVAC and plumbing is essential.

Work Environment

Candidates should be comfortable in a dynamic environment characterized by:

  • Constantly changing priorities requiring quick adaptation.
  • On-call responsibilities every other week, with potential weekend work for emergencies.
  • A strong emphasis on teamwork and interpersonal skills.
