Job Summary

Vets Hired is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining system reliability through troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of energized and deenergized overhead and underground facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain system reliability through troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of energized and deenergized overhead and underground facilities.
  • Perform work assignments in compliance with safety standards set by OSHA and policy and procedures.
  • Perform switching orders on transmission and distribution circuits under emergency or scheduled situations.
  • Perform field verifications for updating the mapping system and circuit one-line diagrams as required to consistently maintain current information which contributes to a safe work environment in the field.
  • Expedite the repair of streetlights according to Operations guidelines to ensure public safety.
  • Operate transmission and distribution substation devices during emergency and scheduled switching.
  • Coordinate with contractors and customers on scheduled appointments for work being done at the customer's address.
  • Provide field training for apprentice line technicians, system operators, meter technicians, and electrical engineers.
