Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the receiving and processing of merchandise
  • Assign tasks and ensure that they are completed correctly and on time
  • Coordinate the movement of merchandise to the sales floor and storage areas
  • Ensure that all merchandise is properly stored and priced
  • Maintain high standards of customer service
  • Cashier when necessary to expedite the processing of customer purchases
  • Record and report damaged merchandise
  • Merchandise the sales floor to maximize sales
  • Work with team members to ensure that the sales floor is stocked with the appropriate levels of merchandise
  • Lead special projects and events as needed
  • Communicate with management to ensure that all received products are placed on the sales floor as soon as possible
  • Lead the maintenance of inventory levels within established guidelines
  • Follow up with team members on new products and procedures
  • Work with management to ensure full productivity on the sales floor
  • Interact with customers to identify merchandising opportunities
  • Take charge of unpacking and pricing new merchandise
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts as scheduled by the controller and retail buyer
  • Ensure that packing slips and invoices are reconciled by the retail clerk
  • Understand and follow all wage and hour standards and procedures
  • Schedule staff and resolve break schedules to improve floor coverage and customer service
  • Train new hires on the point-of-sale system, safety procedures, and job responsibilities
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to use a telephone, computer, and point-of-sale system
  • May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends
