Job Title: Laboratory Technician

At Archer Daniels Midland Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory analysis on raw and finished products to ensure they meet customer and company specifications. This includes performing analytical testing, documenting results, preparing Certificates of Analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of Bills of Lading for release to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analytical testing on all outgoing orders, adhering to documented laboratory procedures.
  • Document results, prepare Certificates of Analysis, and ensure the accuracy of Bills of Lading for release to customers.
  • Retain samples of tested products to confirm results and rotate when necessary.
  • Prepare chemical reagents for analytical tests and monitor chemical and lab supplies inventory.
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, calibrating when applicable.
  • Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to the position.
  • Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, management, and employees, notifying appropriate teams of non-conformance and other concerns.
  • Attend and complete weekly/monthly safety and quality trainings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the QFS Manager.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Analytical laboratory experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Additional Information:
  • Must be able to work all three shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) as well as overtime when required.
