Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodial Operations Supervisor to join our team at the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School District. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our custodial services, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Custodial Staff: Assign work and job responsibilities to custodial personnel, including specific duties for each team member.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Instruct employees in the proper and safe use and care of equipment and supplies, and develop and implement a training program for all new custodial employees.
  • Evaluate and Improve Operations: Evaluate the cleanliness of all buildings through regular inspections, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, Asbestos, A.D.A., IDEM, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate Projects: Assist with the coordination of daily activities of scheduled project work, and ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, including safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and other technical documents.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to speak effectively before groups of individuals, and to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer Skills: General knowledge of computers, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications.
