Job Overview

Position Summary

The Manager of Acute Care Nursing operates under the guidance of the Acute Care Nurse Manager, ensuring that high-quality care is delivered to the designated patient demographic. This role emphasizes the application of the nursing process and the principles of ongoing quality enhancement in partnership with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Acute Care and Emergency Room nursing staff.
  • Assign duties and conduct audits of nursing documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate training and assess the competency of nursing personnel.
  • Maintain effective organizational and administrative operations in compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring three 12-hour shifts weekly, primarily during night hours, with occasional weekend and administrative standby duties.

Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited professional registered nursing program and hold a current RN license in California. Certifications in CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are mandatory within six months of hire if not already certified.

Experience: Previous experience in an Emergency Department is essential.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, along with effective verbal and written communication skills, are required to interact with physicians, management, and other healthcare team members. A collaborative team player who can adhere to established systems and protocols to achieve shared objectives is essential. Proficiency in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is necessary. The ability to organize, prioritize, and utilize the nursing process in delivering care, including administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and collaborating with other healthcare providers, is critical.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation structure includes 13 pay increments on clinical pay scales to reward staff for up to 30 years of relevant experience. The compensation range for this position is $63.11 per hour.
