Campus Monitor - Substitute

Join the Crosby Independent School District team as a Campus Monitor - Substitute. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism for daily assignments.
  • Operate the two-way radio correctly and according to district policy.
  • Maintain a presentable appearance, including being properly dressed, neatly groomed, and practicing good hygiene.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, parents, and school personnel, promoting company goodwill.
  • Control emergency situations in a proper manner and assist in completing campus evacuation drills to local school district and state government standards.
  • Complete and turn in all required documentation to the campus administrative offices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Attend all campus and district required training sessions.
  • Exercise student management through correct use of communication and discipline, reporting discipline problems through proper school district procedures.
  • Ensure students have ID badges and restroom passes before entering the restroom.
  • Notify administrators immediately if a student is non-compliant with restroom policy.
  • Collect cell phones before students enter the restroom.
  • Keep an accurate student sign-in and sign-out log when entering and leaving the restroom.
  • Do not allow more than one student in the restroom at a time.
  • Inspect restrooms regularly and notify custodians if they need cleaning or maintenance.
  • Frequently sanitize high-traffic areas.
  • Monitor the halls and surrounding school premises for truancy.
  • Check for students' hall passes and tardy slips.
  • Report tardiness, truancy, and other related incidents to the appropriate school administrator.
  • Direct authorized visitors to their proper destination and monitor for unauthorized visitors.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical behavior as expected of all District employees.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as designated by the Campus Principal or designee.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
  • Three (3) months of related experience and/or training are preferred.
Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
