Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Support: Deliver respiratory assistance to patients on ventilators across various age groups by monitoring and evaluating their conditions. You will apply your understanding of pathophysiology to perform therapeutic modalities and make informed clinical decisions.
  2. Implementation of Care Procedures: Execute respiratory care protocols and assess the effectiveness of therapies. This includes conducting basic evaluations such as auscultation and recommending necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  3. Documentation: Ensure precise and timely recording of treatment details in patient records, utilizing both physical and electronic documentation systems.
  4. Pulmonary Function Testing: Conduct necessary evaluations, including arterial blood gas analysis and spirometry, ensuring accurate test execution and data interpretation.
  5. Administration of Medical Gases: Safely manage the delivery of mixed medical gases and maintain equipment readiness, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a clean working environment.
  6. Competency Training: Participate in annual competency assessments and assist in training staff on specific respiratory modalities.
  7. Education and Support: Provide instruction to respiratory and nursing students, as well as medical staff, ensuring clear communication of clinical information and patient education.
  8. Additional Duties: Perform other assigned responsibilities and uphold compliance standards related to the role.

Qualifications:

Required: Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program with a minimum of one year of experience. Must hold a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license.

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and active credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires significant manual dexterity and coordination.
  • May involve exposure to various occupational risks.
  • Physical effort may include lifting up to 35 lbs.
