Tax Examination Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Examination Technician to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. As a Tax Examination Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the examination of tax returns and investigations of alleged tax fraud.
Key Responsibilities- Provide detailed paraprofessional support duties related to the examination of tax returns and/or the investigation of alleged tax fraud.
- Locate, search, and document specific information from records of individuals, corporations, banks, brokerage firms, etc.
- Prepare, verify, and assemble work papers, schedules, and exhibits, and related documentation that reflect the presentation of facts and the analysis performed.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Undergo a review of prior performance/conduct and an income tax verification.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07
