Nurse Residency Program in Texas

Methodist Hospital Hill Country is a leading healthcare provider in Fredericksburg, Texas. We offer a unique Nurse Residency Program for new graduate nurses to help them transition from student nurse to registered nurse.
The program includes advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, and measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations. Our experienced nurse leaders will mentor you throughout the year-long program.
We are hiring New Graduate RNs in various units, including Med-Surg, Emergency Dept, and Labor and Delivery. The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic response, and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating patient needs, and resolving them proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and possible side effects, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Other certifications may be required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
- No previous experience needed.
- Some travel may be needed for training.
