The Amazon Account Integrity team is dedicated to ensuring that customers remain protected from individuals attempting to compromise their accounts.

Our primary objective is to maintain customer trust while avoiding unnecessary impacts on legitimate users.

To achieve this balance, we focus on developing mechanisms that enable us to accurately assess and mitigate risks, as well as to swiftly rectify and learn from our errors.

This approach encompasses the ongoing refinement of enforcement policies, the iteration of our Machine Learning risk models, and the application of high-judgment decision-making in scenarios where automation is not feasible.


Main Responsibilities:
Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to develop scalable risk management frameworks.
Examine and interpret extensive historical business data from Amazon to identify specific risk instances or broader risk patterns.
Design, create, and assess highly innovative models for risk management.
Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to implement real-time models and introduce new features.
Work in partnership with operations personnel to enhance risk management processes.
Establish scalable, efficient, automated workflows for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation.
Monitor overall business activities and deliver clear, compelling management reports regularly.
Research and apply novel machine learning and statistical techniques.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modeling and large-scale data analysis.
  • Familiarity with any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.
  • Excellent communication and data presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - A PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a highly quantitative field.

  • 3+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and large-scale data analysis.
  • Proficient in Python/Spark (or similar scripting language), Java/C++, and SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and data presentation abilities.
