The Infection Prevention Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) within our nursing facilities. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including serving as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for staff across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the orientation of new hires by delivering training on infection prevention and control protocols.
- Design and implement educational programs tailored to address identified infection control needs through Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, rounding, and center quality measures.
- Develop, execute, monitor, and sustain the IPCP to ensure high-quality patient care related to the investigation, management, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases.

Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control is required within 90 days of hire.
- A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience is necessary.
- Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate staff on evening and night shifts.
