To support our growth, we are seeking a skilled Commercial Roofing Estimator to enhance our Sales Team in the Central Illinois region.
Key Responsibilities- Project Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of roofing projects to determine the scope of work, including roof dimensions, existing conditions, and specific challenges.
- Cost Analysis: Utilize specialized software and tools to accurately assess material quantities, labor costs, equipment expenses, and overheads for precise cost estimates.
- Material Procurement: Collaborate with suppliers to select suitable roofing materials that meet project specifications, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
- Bid Development: Prepare detailed bids and proposals that outline estimated costs, project timelines, and other pertinent information for potential clients.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, architects, and team members to ensure understanding of project requirements and cost-related details.
- Regulatory Adherence: Stay informed about building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance in all estimates and proposals.
- Documentation Management: Keep thorough records of estimates, contracts, change orders, and other project-related documents for reference and auditing purposes.
- Experience as a Commercial Roofing Estimator (3-5 years)
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of roofing materials such as TPO and EPDM systems, along with construction techniques and industry best practices.
- Analytical Proficiency: Ability to analyze project requirements, interpret blueprints, and perform complex calculations.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with estimating software like Xactimate, PlanSwift, or AccuLynx is often necessary for efficient estimation.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail when assessing project specifications and compiling cost data for accurate estimates.
- Communication Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
