Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Medical Assistant to join our team at the Midwest Cardiovascular Institute. As a Cardiovascular Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical staff in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nursing staff with gathering patient information, including chief complaint, medication list, and vital signs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in patient care by utilizing CPOE to carry out physician orders, including scheduling diagnostic testing and laboratory work.
  • Provide patient education and explanation related to diagnostic testing performed in the clinic setting.
  • Draw blood and correctly fill out lab requisition forms.
  • Perform Electrocardiograms and apply Holter/event/mobile telemetry monitors.
  • Complete weekly OSHA checklist and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist with patient mobility, admissions, and discharges.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current certification from a recognized medical assisting organization.
  • Preceptorship of 400+ clinical hours in cardiology.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time wisely.

  • Adhere to the CIS Standards of Behavior.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Report safety issues to team leader.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
  • Meet deadlines and timeframes for completion of assignments.
