Pacifica Senior Living Hillsborough is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in preparing meals and ingredients for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and label food items in storage closets
- Perform tasks such as chopping ingredients and sanitizing your work station during and after service
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to complete tasks on the prep list
- Measure quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
- Parboil food, reduce sauces, and start first steps in various dishes
- Adhere to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
- Keep track of ingredient inventory and collaborate with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply
Requirements:
- Knowledge of safe food handling
- Experience in volume-batch cooking
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- High School diploma or equivalent; a diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
Work Schedule:
- Part-time schedule 20 hours a week
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (5 hours per shift)
