Transportation Planner

HNTB is seeking a skilled Transportation Planner to join our team of experts in delivering innovative transportation solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation Planning:
Analyze and evaluate bicycle, pedestrian, and complete streets design
Planning for transit improvements, including BRT and other enhancements
Streetscape and urban design planning, visioning, and implementation
Multimodal network planning and prioritization
Passenger rail corridor planning and alternatives analysis
Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Studies
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Documentation
USDOT discretionary grant writing
Project Coordination:
Lead aspects of internal and external coordination with project team members, including other discipline areas involved with the project.
Develops and maintains client meetings and interactions.
Conducts or directs research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning, and formulates recommendations.
Develops conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects.
Leads tasks under general direction related to the preparation and production of technical plans, studies, written reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.
Communication:
Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.
Conducts public meetings/hearings/community workshops and interfaces with client groups and community stakeholders.
May review budgets, invoicing, and billing.
Requirements
Education:
Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
5 years of relevant experience in transportation planning and project coordination.
