About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead our Linear Generator development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing the complex moving parts within the generator, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project requirements definition, design novel solutions, review colleague designs and analyses in detail, and develop production introduction plans.
  • Design and develop complex moving parts, originating creative ideas, executing design and build, testing, and evaluating performance.
  • Assess failure modes involving thermal, structural, materials, and fluids interactions.
  • Develop system models to drive component design development based on field observations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least ten years of experience, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least seven years of experience.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment and can lead projects, optimize solutions across different teams.
  • Design experience with high-performance parts released into the market.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks or comparable CAD packages, including structural FEA.
  • Solid physical understanding of structural mechanics and heat transfer; strength in tribology, fluids, materials is a plus.
  • Ability to generate 2D drawings for manufacturing, experience utilizing GD&T is preferred.
  • Ability to develop system models to understand component performance relative to operating parameters.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $195,000 - $225,000, depending on experience, with pre-IPO stock options and benefits.

This position is located in Menlo Park, CA, and the salary will be adjusted based on the employee's experience.
