Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in welding and metal fabrication, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About the Role:

This is a challenging role that requires a high level of skill and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metal fabrication principles and practices, as well as experience working with various types of metals and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Weld components together in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Operate safety equipment and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to welding chart specifications.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy and geometry.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating or warping of parts.
  • Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and material safety data sheets to plan layout and assembly operations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, Technical School
  • Welding Certificate (AWS-1G test)
  • Prior experience preferred
  • Forklift and Crane Operation Experience Preferred

Estimated Salary:$40-$60 per hour
