Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the efficient movement of pallets and various materials within the warehouse, ensuring that production requirements are met. This role includes loading and unloading trailers, as well as manually sorting and repairing wooden pallets as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make informed decisions regarding the movement of materials to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Operate forklifts by manipulating levers and pedals to control the lifting apparatus.
  • Position lifting devices under or around loaded pallets and transport them to designated areas.
  • Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while operating forklifts, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Accountable for achieving operational results while upholding company values and safety standards.
  • Perform hand-sorting of wooden pallets when required.
  • Repair wooden pallets using appropriate tools when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and shifts.
