Position Overview
The Senior Legislative Auditor role is a full-time permanent opportunity within the Office of the County Auditor, which operates under the legislative branch of the local government.

Work Environment
The role demands adherence to high professional standards, with performance evaluated through direct observation, discussions, and thorough reviews of audit documentation and reports. Supervision will be provided to a team of professional auditors engaged in various auditing tasks.

Essential Duties
The Senior Legislative Auditor will:
- Execute a variety of performance audits, including risk assessments and compliance testing.
- Conduct budget analyses, reviewing financial trends and recommending cost-saving measures.
- Assess the financial and policy implications of proposed legislation.
- Collaborate with County Council members and officials, presenting findings and recommendations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants should possess:
- In-depth knowledge of auditing principles and standards, including GAAP, GAAS, and GAGAS.
- Familiarity with the structure and functions of County government.
- Proficiency in applying technology to governmental processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently on audit and legislative analysis tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to represent the County Auditor in various forums.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must have:
- A degree from an accredited institution in accounting or finance.
- A minimum of three years of experience in accounting or auditing.

Additional Information
Applicants with experience in performance auditing of governmental entities and strong analytical skills will be given preference.
