About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Design Engineer to join our team at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire alarm and detection systems for our nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fire protection systems, including fire alarm and detection systems, in accordance with national consensus codes and standards.
  • Provide technical support to site construction forces, start-up & testing, suppliers or subcontract personnel.
  • Prepare data sheets, statements of work, procurement specifications, design build specifications, and purchase requisitions.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to assigned problems, incorporating conventional engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable science or engineering discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree in fire protection engineering, registered professional engineer in fire protection, or full member in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
  • Previous SRS design engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.
