Position Overview:

Join our team as a Patient Referral Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in facilitating patient care through effective referral management.

Key Details:

Location: 100% Onsite

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: $24 - $28 per hour

Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate documentation to ensure adherence to compliance standards, completeness, and accuracy of data.
  • Collaborate with document creators and approvers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Oversee the processing of incoming and outgoing referrals as well as prior authorizations.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance plans.
  • Address inquiries and provide information regarding insurance coverage, claims processing, and referral alternatives.
  • Complete necessary referral authorization documentation and relay authorization information to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Maintain the customer database with pertinent documents and pre-authorization information.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a clinical or healthcare environment is essential.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks are crucial.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities are highly valued.
