Position Summary:
The Automotive Service Technician position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities and is compensated hourly based on the operational needs of the business. This role is essential for executing fundamental vehicle repair and maintenance tasks in alignment with the standards set by the company and the specifications outlined by manufacturers. The technician is expected to provide outstanding service to customers, effectively communicating vehicle concerns and suggested remedies while ensuring that customer expectations regarding service timelines and quality are consistently fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently in accordance with company operational standards. Tire Services – conduct wheel removal, balancing, patching, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair. Vehicle Maintenance – execute lubrications, oil changes, and basic upkeep (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements), as well as battery testing and installations. Carry out the company's Courtesy Inspection process on every vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating any additional required services and repairs. Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking supplies. Support all general store operations, ensuring the facility is maintained to high standards of cleanliness and is consistently ready for customers. Adhere to safety protocols while performing services, including compliance with the company's safety standards. Conduct test drives in accordance with the company's Road Test policy, following all local traffic and safety regulations. Understand and comply with company policies, governmental regulations, and safety standards. Consistently utilize all required safety measures as outlined in training and company procedures. Maintain technical knowledge and skills through the timely completion of all required training courses and modules. Operate and maintain all equipment safely, following company and manufacturer guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Completion of automotive training or equivalent experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. Must hold a valid driver's license and possess a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to operate customer vehicles for test drives. Required to have a basic set of tools or participate in the company's tool purchase program.Candidate Profile:
Ability to proactively identify issues, gather information, and make informed decisions to recommend solutions. Strong customer service orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues and documenting routine reports.This overview is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the company's needs.
