TAD Manufacturing Process Engineer Job Description

About the Role

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a highly skilled TAD Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Structured Papermaking Technology Platform, you will provide technical expertise to TAD and eTAD paper making assets across our North America facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose root cause of operational issues and lead local resources in resolution
  • Identify improvement opportunities through assessments and develop expertise in others
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new assets
  • Assist asset owners in managing and prioritizing lists of improvement opportunities
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts and operations personnel to develop standardized operating and maintenance strategies
  • Provide technical and professional support and mentoring for engineering and operations personnel
  • Assist in planning specific outage activities with operations teams
  • Apply Subject Matter Expertise to support short-term technical requests across multiple facilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years combined experience in manufacturing leadership role(s) supporting structured paper making operations
  • Knowledge and expertise in specific paper making equipment and process areas
  • Able to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID's), layout drawings, and mechanical drawings
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering
  • Experience using PI Process Book or comparable data historian
  • 10 or more years of experience in tissue/towel paper machine production optimization role(s)
  • 5 or more years of experience troubleshooting and optimizing PLC and DCS control logic
  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis strategies
