About the Opportunity

The West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking a part-time Bioinformatics Technician to support research efforts in the School of Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and extract data from medical records and files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Enter data into online forensic drug databases and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with medical examiners and researchers to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation to inform research findings.
  • Develop and maintain applications to process biologically based data for analysis and presentation.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience working with confidential medical records and data entry.
  • Familiarity with procedures followed by the WV Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
  • Basic knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • High perceptual speed and attention to detail.
