Job Title: First Party Property Paralegal

De Novo Review Inc is seeking a highly skilled First Party Property Paralegal to join its team in Orlando, Florida. As a key member of the litigation support team, you will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys through the life-cycle of litigation cases.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of paralegal experience in civil litigation, with a strong background in property insurance litigation. You will be responsible for evaluating and breaking down claim files, drafting file memorandums, and preparing discovery motions and correspondence. Additionally, you will assist in identifying privileged and non-privileged documents, preparing Privilege Logs, and conducting research using Lexis and other online forums.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and break down claim files to identify key issues and facts
  • Draft file memorandums to summarize case information and identify legal issues
  • Prepare discovery motions and correspondence, including Interrogatories, Request for Production, and Request for Admissions
  • Identify privileged and non-privileged documents and prepare Privilege Logs
  • Conduct research using Lexis and other online forums to gather information and support case arguments
  • Assist in preparing settlement agreements and releases, Proposals for Settlement, and Danis letters
  • Interview fact witnesses and expert witnesses to gather information and support case arguments
Requirements:
  • At least two years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
  • Strong background in property insurance litigation
  • Florida Registered Paralegal or Certificate in Paralegal Studies from an accredited paralegal program
  • Working knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Florida Rules of Judicial Administration
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Time Matters, Juris billing program, and Lexis Nexis
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to keep confidential case and client matters
