Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Successfully manage projects of significant scope, complexity, and revenue budget.
    • Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets.
    • Hold project team members accountable for deliverables.
    • Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary and client service objectives for each project.
  • Structural Engineering
    • Apply strong structural engineering skills, experience and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design, for building projects.
    • Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for structural engineering projects.
    • Periodically act as QC reviewer on projects.
  • Client Relationships
    • Nurture existing client relationships.
    • Proactively represent firm and pursue opportunities for new business.
    • Develop and deliver client presentations.
  • Team Leadership
    • Collaborate with the Structural Principal of the business center on staffing, workforce planning and the hiring process.
    • Share knowledge with others by serving as a trainer and resource.
    • Directly manage and mentor others; engaging, developing, and retaining top talent.
    • Supervise local staff of two and help with organic growth of department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering plus 15 years related professional experience.
  • MA Professional Engineering license required, or the ability to obtain within 6 months from the date of employment.
  • LEED AP Credential is preferred.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment working with computers. Some travel may be required such as delivering plans or documents to reviewing agencies or clients or to attend meetings. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
