Position Purpose:
The Technician I and II roles are essential for executing various labor tasks, which include operating heavy machinery to support site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate vehicles and specialized equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, and vactors as part of daily tasks.
- Conduct maintenance on-site and in the field as requested through maintenance requests or verbal instructions.
- Maintain a detailed log of all maintenance activities, including dates and descriptions of work performed.
- Perform scheduled inspections of the premises.
- Engage in lawn care and gardening tasks as needed.
- Assist Crew Leaders with various duties, including shoveling and handling manhole covers.
- Identify potential safety enhancements related to facilities, equipment, or operational procedures.
- Comply with all company health and safety protocols relevant to job functions.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-5 years of experience in a related field.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in using basic hand and power tools.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections, noting any deficiencies and adhering to maintenance protocols.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints, including understanding symbols and safety codes.
- Effectively communicate in writing and verbally with colleagues, supervisors, and management.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs are required. Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces is necessary.
