Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Nucor Corporation. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for leading the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, costing files, and assisting with annual budget and monthly balancing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, control, and system improvements.
  • Supervise external and internal audit processes and ensure proper internal controls are maintained.
  • Provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business.
  • Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years performing financial close and reporting experience in accordance with GAAP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA and/or Advanced Business degree.
  • Manufacturing or Public Accounting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience.
